The Best Sports Bras for Busty Broads

Updated: Nov 26, 2023

Ok, this has been something I've wanted to write for years. However, it's literally taken me this long to find enough bras that I feel a review is worthy! Today, I've got three bras I'm reviewing for the well-endowed. I've put these bras through the wringer with high intense activity as well as everyday wear.

As you know, with big boobs you don't have to be sprinting, box jumping, or doing burpees to need your girls supported. Hell, I've been driving on dirt roads that made me feel like I needed a sports bra. Even in yoga classes, a "light support" bra doesn't cut it. Light support bras can be good for a literal doing-nothing day. But after a while, it feels like no support which is basically like not wearing a bra, thus I get to the conclusion of wondering "Wait, why am I wearing a bra?" and off goes this minimalist bra. So, here is my take on the best high-support sports bras for large busts.

First up, Betts Fit

I found Bett's fit at the beginning of 2021. I was stoked about this company as Catherine, the owner, is a fellow Tahoe local. I was actually able to go to her house for a fitting and to get a full rundown of the product. This has been the best high-support sports bra I've found.

Complete Adjustability

Strap In, Over, or Out

Bett's Fit can be worn as an H back or X back, because of this, the straps have a large range of adjustability. They are 1" wide, which provides enough support without feeling like they are cutting into you, yet not too thick that you feel like you are wearing a whole other shirt underneath. One thing I hate about larger-size bras is how thick the straps can be. I understand it helps the support and that's what we are all after, but man, it makes me feel...clunky sometimes.

I prefer to wear the straps cross-backed when doing high intense activity where I need more support. But, with the awesome design of Bett's Fit, it's super easy to switch to an H back when you don't need as much support/compression. I can easily swap them over after a workout session to feel more comfortable if I am running errands or training clients.

With the hook and eye closures on each end of the straps, it makes this bra possible to nurse in as well! You can easily unhook one or both straps on the front to be able to pull the bra down and nurse or pump.

Not Your Grandma's Corset

Bett's Fit has a corset with a cord lock to maximize compression when needed. Again, this is a super simple design that is easy to tighten and loosen. What's great about this design is that it's not an either-or situation. You don't have to be snug as a bug or loose as a goose. You can make nuanced adjustments to suit your exact needs. I typically synch that sucker up for a run or CrossFit class, then unsnap the button, and loosen er' up afterward.

Bet Your Bottom...Band

You have your standard style hook and eye closures on the back, then from the front of the bra, there is a slider to easily tighten or loosen the band when wearing. As women, we know our bodies can feel different from day to day. So having this many options for adjustability is amazing.

As a personal trainer, I can be in my sports bra all day long. I'm often moving with clients so it is way more comfortable to be in a sports bra, however, I don't need max compression all day long. This is what drew me to Bett's Fit in the first place. Before finding Bett's Fit the sports bras I would wear would be unbearable to wear all day long.

Final Thoughts

Betts Fit was the first bra I found that had enough compression yet could still be comfortable all day long. It also doesn't look (or feel) like a piece of armor underneath tight-fitting workout clothes. Full disclosure though, I have sized out of this bra. Currently, there is not a size available in what I need.

But the more we can support this company, the more sizes they can offer! They now have added 2 more styles! Did I mention the owner, Catherine, offers virtual fittings?! This is an incredible resource as there can be a learning curve to adjusting the bra. Price for the Betts Fit is currently $99

Who Fit? SheFit

SheFit was the first bra I tried that was made with big chests in mind and tons of adjustability. They were founded in a similar way to Betts Fit. The founder, Sara Moylan, could not find a bra that worked for her so she took things into her own hands and created her own. From there, SheFit was born. SheFit offers a few different styles of bras, I tested out the Ultimate Sports Bra, which is their high-impact bra.

Sizing Versatility and Customizable Comfort

Zip It and Stick It

The Ultimate Sports Bra does hold up to its name in having ultimate adjustability. The straps and bottom band are velcro, so you can micro-adjust. I have to admit, I really do like having the ability to loosen or tighten the tiniest smidge. Having shoulder issues, this bra is also the easiest for me to adjust while wearing. Somedays, I can't reach back to adjust straps with sliders, so I either have to ask for help or slide the straps off and turn the bra around.

You also have the ability to wear this bra H or X back and can easily swap between the two. I prefer to wear this bra X back. I'm not a fan of how it sits on my shoulders in the H back position. I have broad shoulders, yet it still feels like they sit too far out in the H position, like they'll slide down.

The bottom band is 2 inches wide which gives me a lot of support. Again, super easy to reach back and undo the velcro strap and re-adjust. The front is a zipper closure which is something I honestly don't love. There are two hook and eye closures that help in zipping this baby up, as well as a "zipper garage" that is supposed to protect from chafing. Unfortunately, the first time I used this bra I went on a 5 mile run and the fabric that is supposed to cover the zipper kept rolling open and exposing the zipper. I chafed, badly.

Support You Can Feel...and See

While I did find this bra very supportive (the most important part), wearing it under tight-fitting clothes is not discreet. It makes me feel like I'm wearing armor, which is the hard part of finding supportive bras for big busts. The straps feel a bit bulky and you can clearly see the zipper. I'm not necessarily trying to hide anything, but I also don't want to feel like people are wondering wtf kind of boob cage I'm wearing.

Final Thoughts

The SheFit Ultimate Sports Bra was a major competitor for me but I wasn't as comfortable wearing it all day as I was with the Betts Fit. It felt like too much bra when I wasn't actively working out. So, again, if you aren't in a field where you need to be wearing a sports bra all day and just need it for your workout, this is a great choice! I haven't tried any of their other bras for the lower-impact days, but they are on my list. Price for the Ultimate Sports Bra is currently $75

Third Love, Not Third Choice

The Unexpected Contender

Lately, I've had a very hard time not only finding sports bras but regular bras too. I'd seen Third Love ads popping up everywhere so I gave them a go for my daily wear. I tried multiple styles and sizes and had no luck with this brand, so I was very apprehensive about their claim on their high-impact sports bra.

I took the plunge and ordered the Third Love Kinetic Sports Bra and was shocked when this seemed to be the only bra from them that fit me well. However, I still had doubts it would hold up to the test of high-impact workouts. But again, I was surprised by its performance!

Dynamic Performance

The name speaks for itself. Kinetic means "of motion" and this bra moves in motion with you, making you feel supported throughout movement. It doesn't have as much adjustability as the Betts Fit or SheFit, but as with those two, you can wear the straps H or X back. Unlike my experience with the SheFit Ultimate Sports Bra, I find it more comfortable to wear the Kinetic bra H back over X back. I also have plenty of support when wearing it this way, whereas with the other bras they left me feeling less supported in the H back position.

The bottom band is supportive and not too thick but only has the standard hook and eye closures on the back. There is no other way for micro-adjusting here.

Comfort is King

Although there is less adjustability with this bra, I have found it to be the most comfortable lately. The built-in cups keep a nice shape and don't create a uni-boob. I am a fan of not having removable cups as you don't have to worry about them getting all bunched up or oddly out of place. The Kinetic bra is also nice and smooth under clothing so it's not obvious you are wearing an intense sports bra. It also comes in some great color options!

Final Thoughts

The Third Love Kinetic Sports Bra is currently my favorite bra of the 3. As I mentioned in the beginning, I have unfortunately sized out of Betts Fit. So, the Third Love Bra has been my go-to as of late for all-day wear and high-intensity days. Also, as a wrestling coach, who is very active on the mat showing moves and practicing with the team, this is the most comfortable during practices. Not having any zippers or buttons to get pressed into you makes a huge difference during contact sports. Price for the Kinetic Sports Bra is currently $78
